Rorrim

The (unofficial) opposite of the Playdate Mirror app. Takes content from your Mac's screen and streams it to your Playdate over a USB cable.

• See your pixel art, Caps or Tophat fonts, or anything else, live on the Playdate’s screen as you work
• Preview your Pulp or Simulator games without having to create a build and sideload it
• Test different dither settings in Oven or PlayDither, directly on the Playdate’s screen

Requirements

• macOS 13.3 or higher
• Playdate handheld game console

Caveats

• This app uses the same API as the Playdate Simulator’s “Send Bitmap” functionality, but continuously sending images isn’t officially supported by Panic, so use this app at your own risk.
• Attempting to use the official Playdate Mirror or Simulator device functionality at the same time as this app is active may not work or may cause errors.
• Unplugging your Playdate without first stopping mirroring (press the Eject button in the toolbar or quit the app) may cause the Playdate to crash.
• Streaming to Playdate is limited to a low frame rate for performance and reliability.
